Common Questions
What paint sheen level should I choose?
The paint sheen level is an important decision when deciding to paint but doesn’t have to be complicated.
There’s a basic rule of thumb to follow when choosing paint sheens: The higher the sheen or gloss level the more durable it will be. The lower the sheen the less durable the finish will be but has the benefits of hiding imperfections in the painted surface. For example, ideally, use flat paint for ceilings which would give you an attractive even finish without imperfections.
Alternatively, I would recommend using a semi-gloss or high gloss paint for doors, frames, and trims that are exposed to higher traffic and require a more durable coating. For more information on paint, sheen levels click on this link by Haymes Paints.
