What paint sheen level should I choose?
The paint sheen level is an important decision when deciding to paint but doesn’t have to be complicated.
There’s a basic rule of thumb to follow when choosing paint sheens: The higher the sheen or gloss level the more durable it will be. The lower the sheen the less durable the finish will be but has the benefits of hiding imperfections in the painted surface. For example, ideally, use flat paint for ceilings which would give you an attractive even finish without imperfections.
Alternatively, I would recommend using a semi-gloss or high gloss paint for doors, frames, and trims that are exposed to higher traffic and require a more durable coating. For more information on paint, sheen levels click on this link by Haymes Paints.

“Just had my exterior and interior painted by Mike and his team. Firstly, Mike is a great guy – very personable and honest. The end result is fabulous, in fact better than expected. Mike even came back after the job to make sure I was happy and said if we have any issues later to just let him know and it would be fixed. What more can I say – old fashioned service from a top notch tradesman. Absolutely no issues recommending these guys.”

“Mike and his crew painted all our internal walls and there were a lot of cracks and imperfections they had to fix beforehand. They did a great job, were prompt and polite and left everything tidy at the end of each day. Would highly recommend.”

“Mike, repainted our 2 storey home (exterior and interior). He was timely, he cares, he is friendly, he is available, and importantly he is flexible. And by the way: good workmanship too. He even did a bit more than what was quoted… which was a nice touch. Highly recommended.”
